We believe every person has a story.

No one wakes up wanting to struggle.

Behaviour doesn't happen in isolation.

It's shaped by experience.

By relationships.

By the stories we tell ourselves.

That's why we believe...

Understanding people begins with understanding yourself.

Why We Exist

South Seas Communities exists to help people understand what shapes behaviour.

We create spaces where people can reflect without judgment, recognise the imprints that influence their thinking, and build practical pathways forward.

Our work isn't about labels.

It's about understanding.

Because when people understand themselves...

They begin responding differently to others.

Meet Deacon

Deacon To’o has spent more than 20 years working alongside young people, adults, families, frontline workers and organisations across the communities sector.

Across different roles and settings, one thing kept becoming clear: behaviour rarely makes sense without understanding the experiences behind it.

That observation shaped the way Deacon works today and became the foundation for STATUES β€” helping people reflect, recognise patterns and better understand themselves and others.

How We Work

Everything we do is guided by the STATUES philosophy.

STATUES is a practical way of helping people understand the relationship between story, identity, behaviour and choice.

Whether we're working with an individual, family, team or organisation, the process remains the same.

Understand.

Reflect.

Recognise.

Respond.

Grow.

We don't force people to share their story.

We create safe spaces where people can understand it.
